Umaa Architecture was appointed by the owners of this brownfield site to masterplan a redevelopment scheme providing a mix of housing types suitable for the needs of the local market and help provide guidance on the sale of the site to potential developers.
The site comprises a long strip of industrial land sitting between industrial and residential areas and with its Western boundary overlooking the canal.
Initial proposals are arranged around the best views, with a new apartment block facing side on to the canal and new streets formed end on to neighbouring industrial sites. The proposals provide a mix of detached, semi-detached and mews houses as well as the apartment block which provides smaller units to meet the needs of an urban development site.
