Umaa Architecture has been appointed to work up proposals for the conversion of this historic mill site in Bradford. The site includes two multi-storey Victorian mill buildings, which it is proposed to convert to a residential use providing a mix of 1 bed, 2 bed and studio apartments.

The historic nature of the buildings required a careful and sensitive treatment and the proposed layout is designed to work around the existing pattern of fenestration with apartments wrapping around the outer walls and the central area given to services and amenity spaces. This layout makes best use of daylight and natural ventilation with only minimal change to the historic fabric of the building.
