Umaa Architecture was appointed by a national strategic land promoter to carry out masterplanning work for a competition bid for a development site on the edge of the village. After a successful win, Umaa were further appointed to produce and manage details for an outline planning application.

The site comprises a sizeable portion of land on the edge of the village, offering the opportunity to create more than 170 new homes.

The initial exercise carried out by Umaa established the key strategic layout for the site, including access roads, development blocks and pockets of green space, with subsequent work carried out to examine the housing mix, drainage strategy and public open space requirements.
