Umaa Architecture was appointed by a private developer to produce a scheme for a mixed use redevelopment on a 2-acre industrial site in Sandwell.

The site sits within an area of changing character, currently predominantly industrial but increasingly being regenerated to residential and commercial uses. With the ongoing development of the nearby hospital, this site has great potential for redevelopment.

The scheme proposes a new residential and social hub on half of the site, providing ground floor commercial space suitable for bars, restaurants or local shops with upto 10 storeys of residential floorspace above, providing a mix of 1-bed, 2-bed and studio apartments. The other half of the site provides multi-storey car parking to serve the local area.
