Working for a premium national housebuilder, Umaa Architecture was appointed to work on a new build housing site.
The site forms an infill to the South of the village, with existing development on two sides. The site benefits from open views to the South and West and direct access to the main road. Constraints include a small brook running across the site with mature trees running alongside.
The proposed design provides 65 new build houses arranged in small blocks, accessed from private drives filtering off a central spine road. Native hedge planting is proposed along the boundaries to create wildlife habitats and provide screening to neighbouring plots, whilst the existing brook and tree line have been used as an opportunity to introduce open space and sustainable drainage measures.
