Umaa Architecture was invited by S.P. Faizey Architects to collaborate on this ambitious redevelopment scheme in the centre of Walsall. The project represented a unique opportunity for the comprehensive redevelopment of three adjoining buildings on a prominent corner site close to key local landmarks including the New Art Gallery and the marina.

The site is located within an established regeneration zone and is currently occupied by three derelict buildings which have lain empty for several years, suffering from vandalism and fire damage.

The project offered a unique opportunity to revitalise the whole corner plot, bringing together the three buildings into a single coherent landmark development that will address the waterside area and create new linkages to existing public spaces. The proposed design provides a total of 220+ new residential apartments with courtyard parking, rooftop terraces and balconies offering views out over the canals and marina.

Following successful presentation to the planning committee, the planning application was approved in January 2019.
